Amazon India selling 32GB Space Grey iPhone 6 at Rs 28 999

The Apple iPhone 6 was launched back in 2014, in three storage variants, 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. Now a new variant of iPhone 6 with 32GB storage is available for purchase online.

The new 32GB model comes in Space Grey hue and is priced at Rs. 30,700. However as a limited period offer (till March 7) it will be available at a discounted price of Rs. 28,999 on Amazon India.

Theres also an exchange offer under which users can get up to Rs. 13,000 off on the 32GB iPhone 6, if they trade in their old smartphones (exchange price depends on the model and its condition). However, it is limited to certain regions.

Its worth mentioning that new 32GB model is not listed on Apples website, but will most likely sell through third party retailers and carriers.

Apart from the new storage option the rest of the specs will remai n the same. The iPhone 6 will feature 4.7-inch retina display, Apple A8 chipset with M8 Motion Co-processor, 1GB RAM and 8MP/1.2MP cameras. It runs iOS 9 out of the box, but is upgradable to the latest version of iOS 10.

The new 32GB iPhone 6 is also available in select Asian market. It was available in China since last month and will go on sale in Tawan on March 10 via local carrier Taiwan Mobile.

Moto Mod with slider QWERTY keyboard in the works

Android smartphones with slide out QWERTY keyboards are a rear species in the market. But if you want to get one currently theres the BlackBerry Priv with a hefty price tag.

That said, Motorola is having a solution for that thanks to the Moto Mods platform. The Lenovo owned company will soon release a Moto Mod with slide out QWERTY Keyboard for the Moto Z series.

The  QWERTY keyoard slider Mod has a dedicated page on Indiegogo and is listed as coming soon. Similar to previous Moto Mods, the new accessory is also designed to attach to the Moto Z line-up via powerful magnetic pins.

As seen in the image, the new Keyboard Mod has five rows of keys with the top line being number, and the next three the alphabet keys. The Mod will also pack a 2100mAh battery to to give the phone additional juice, and if the project manages get enough backers, the accessory will get support for Qi wireless charging.

In related news Lenovos (owner of Motorola) General Manager, Middle East for smartphones, Sharay Shams in an interview to The Express Tribune told that the company plans to introduce at least 12 new Moto Mods this year. He also said that the Mods will be compatible with Motorolas Moto Z line up for the next three years.

Bhim app sees over 14 mn registrations since launch says IT Minister

The recently launched Bharat Interface for Money (Bhim) app has seen more than 140 lakh registration, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in New Delhi on Friday.

“The recently launched Bhim app by the government of India will unleash the power of mobile phones for digital payments and financial inclusion. So far, over 140 lakh people have adopted the Bhim app,” Prasad said.

He added that the government will launch two new schemes to promote the usage of Bhim â€" Referral Bonus Scheme for individuals and a Cashback Scheme for merchants.

Aadhaar Pay, a merchant version of Aadhaar Enabled Payment System, will also be launched shortly. This will be specifically beneficial for those who do not have debit cards, mobile wallets and mobile phones.

“Digital economy aims for speed, accountability and transparency. We are also creating an eco-system to make India a global hub for electronics manufacturing,” the minister said, adding, “Over 250 investment proposals for electronics manufacturing have been received in the last two years, totalling an investment of Rs 1.26 lakh crores.”

Apples spaceship campus Apple Park will open in April

Apples spaceship campus in California, which we have been hearing about for years is finally ready for operation. The 175-acre campus called Apple Park will be ready for employees in April. However, the process of moving more than 12,000 people will take over six months, while the construction of buildings and parklands will continue through summer.

Apple Park, Steve Jobs vision as a center for creativity and collaboration, will have a ring shaped 2.8 million square-foot main building clad entirely in the worlds largest panels of curved glass. Moreover in honour of Steve Jobs (would have turned 62 on February 24) memory and his enduring influence on Apple and the world, the theater at Apple Park will be named the Steve Jobs Theater.

The 1,000 seat auditorium is a 20-foot-tall glass cylinder, 165 feet in diameter, supporting a metallic carbon fiber roof situated atop a hill inside Apple Park overlooking meadows and the main building . The doors of the auditorium will open later this year.

Apple park will also include visitors center with an Apple Store and public cafe, a 100,000 square-foot fitness center for employees as well as secure research and development facilities. The parklands will offer two miles of walking and running paths for employees, and also have orchard, meadow and pond withing the rings interior grounds.

Apple Park will be powered by 100 percent renewable energy. It will have one of the largest on-site solar energy installations thanks to the 17 megawatts solar rooftop. It is also the site of the world’s largest naturally ventilated building, projected to require no heating or air conditioning for nine months of the year.

LG has announced their latest smartphone before the MWC 2017 starts, the X Power2. Its the companys upgrade to the big battery X Power of last year.

The LG X Power2, now has a bigger 5.5 inch HD In-Cell screen (1280 x 720 resolution) at 294 ppi. The device will be p owered by a certain 1.5 GHz octa core processor, either 1.5 GB / 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB of expandable ROM.

"The LG X power2 will roll out beginning in March in the Latin America followed by key markets in United States, Asia, Europe and other regions," the South Korean company said in a press release. "Pricing will be announced at the time of availability."

The highlight of this phone is its HUGE 4,500 mAh of battery which is 400 mAh bigger than the original X Power. Then this device has a 13 MP main camera, 5 MP wide angle front camera, and LTE connectivity.

Located on the top of your keyboard you will find these buttons to the right of the Esc key. 
     The F1 key has been recurrently used and reserved for the Help menus in almost all programs. If we need a tutorial, some additional information or some guidance to solve a problem, this will be our salvation. 

F2 allows us to modify the name of the file or folder you have selected at that time. This shortcut allows us to avoid the boring right click on the file, look for the name change and go to the file again option. Swift and Simple...

The F3 key allows direct access to the search box form. With the help of it we can trace along the contents of a web page or document which is active at that time. It also allows us to avoid searching among multiple menus that have put us designers. 

The F4 key helps to close an open program. Whether a browser, a document or to the same Windows. What we do is, we should keep in mind not to close something we do not want to lose.

F5 key is widely used in the field of Internet. It allows us to reapply for information about the page you have open at that time and put it back. This will prevent us from having to see a page that is not loaded properly or receive a new date with the newer version.

 The F6 key allows access from a browser address bar without using a mouse. We also can move through different menus of some programs.

In writing information or programs, such as MS Word or something similar, we have an option that allows us orthographically correct a text in order to avoid errors. This option can be used simply by pressing the F7 key on your keyboard. 

With the F8 key you can access the boot menu windows. This wil l be very useful if we have problems when turning on our computer, as it will allow us to open the "safe mode" and check why it is failing to boot normally.

The victim of the "F" keys is the F9 key, because very few know its function.
Basically it is used for some design options in programs or to update the document that will have Word. We only work if we use that file on a shared basis, so it really is like something almost unreliable.

F10, by contrast, has two functions. The first is to show the hidden menus have active window. This is also possible if you simply press the "Alt Gr" key.

Alt Gr key is suitable when you want to use both Ctrl & Alt key together.

        The other function of the F10 key appears when you click with the shift key, then it acts as if we had made a click with the right mouse button. Still we prefer the key we found next to the windows key right because it allows us to use the right mouse button right where we have the cursor at the time. Almost reaching the end, the F11 key shows full-screen mode within a web browser.

This feature is usually a nuisance in many cases, as we will hide the taskbar and in some cases force us to remember which key has been pressed. It is more useful to find out that almost to enter. But of course, if we put some web so that it fills the entire screen, it may be also useful.

F12 allows u s to open debug mode browser. If youre not making a website, better not worry about it.

If we use along with the L key, we will block access leading us to the menu windows without closing any system. This can be very useful if we leave the laptop in a shared space and not want anyone to see us what we are doing.

If we combine it with the M key , we will minimize all windows again without closing anything. If used together with the shift key or the capital again we recover all. This will prove useful if you want us direct access to our desktop, without going pressing one by one and each of the windows we have on the desktop. We definitely will save a lot of time. Still also we remind you that the new versions of windows incorporate a similar function on the right side of the Windows taskbar.

Razer acquires Nextbit maker of cloud first Robin phone

Nextbit, the makers of the cloud-first Robin smartphone has announced that, the company has been acquired by gaming laptops and PC accessories manufacturer Razer.

Nextbit will be operating as an independent division inside Razer, under its own management, and will focus on bringing unique mobile design and e xperiences. Nextbit and Razer closed the acquisition earlier this month, but the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company has also announced that it has halted sales of the Robin smartphones and all accessories through its official channels. However, Nextbit will continue to offer support including software updates and security updates through February, 2018, and the company will fulfill warranties for six more months. Nextbit also confirmed that the Robin 2 is not coming out anytime soon.

 

To refresh, Nextbit is a San-Francisco based company founded by former members of Googles Android team, along with former design head at HTC in 2015. The first smartphone Robin was launched via a Kickstarter campaign, in September 2015, which turned to be successful, and later the phone reached many markets including India. The main highlight of Robin was that, it offered 100GB of cloud storage, so that users backup least used apps, photos, videos to the cloud and free up space in the smartphone.

With the acquisition, Razer, which until now focused on makin g gaming PCs and accessories, will be looking to make smartphones in the near future.

Asus launches R558UQ laptop in India with Kaby Lake starting at Rs 48 990

Asus today launched a new Windows 10 laptop in India dubbed R558UQ, as an update to its existing lineup with Kaby Lake processor, USB Type-C and NVIDIA graphics card.

Asus is offering models with Core i5-7200U processor with 4GB RAM and Core i7-7500U with 8GB RAM priced at Rs. 48,990 and Rs. 59,990 respectively. 

Both laptop models feature 15.6-inch Full HD display, 1TB SATA HDD and 2GB Nvidia GeForce 940MX dedicated graphics card. The RAM is also upgradable through a memory door on the bottom side of the laptop. Theres also a VGA web camera.

Ports on the laptop include a USB Type-C 3.1 port, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, VGA port, LAN port, microSD card reader and 3.5mm audio jack. For wireless connectivity theres Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 < br />
The laptop promises up to 4.5 hours of battery life and weighs 2.1 kg.

Apples 2017 iPhone will have Lightning Connectors with USB C fast charging

Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple will replace the lighting connector on the iPhone 8 with a USB Type-C port, like the companys 2016 MacBook Pro lineup. However KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo refutes the claims in his latest research note and clarifies that Apple will stick with Lightning Connector on the next generation iPhone, but will utilize USB-C Power Delivery technology in the power chord for super-fast charging capabilities.

This means Apple will tweak the internal components to integrate USB Type-C Power Delivery, but retain the Physical Lightning Connector. The tech will be adapted to the companys Lightning design and will be sourced from Texas Instrument and Cypress. Not only the premium iPhone 8, but the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will also support USB-C Power Deliver techology.  

"We believe all three new iPhones launching in 2H17 will support fast charging by the adoption of Type-C Power Delivery technology (while still retaining the Lightning port)," says Kuo in his research note.

Previous reports have revealed that Apple will launch three iPhones this year. The two usual standard and Plus iPhone, and a premium iPhone 8 to mark iPhones 10th anniversary. The iPhone 8 is also expected to feature metal and glass design, bezel-less OLED display with no home button, iris scanner and wireless charging.

Cloudfone Next Lite Do Not Take This Phone Lightly!

Having a "lite" in the name may mean a serious downgrade most of the time. However the Cloudfone Next Lite still packs enough punch to make a statement! It may have notable similarities with its predecessor the Next but this handset can still hold its own.

Is is the "Lite" phone that you should not take lightly?

We had several weeks to play around with this handset so here are the deets!

Display Quality

Sharp 441 pixels per inch!

Having the Lite moniker in the name already states the obviously smaller sized 5 inch display compared to its older brother but with the same full HD resolution, you are not losing a lot. As a matter of fact, it even has a sharper 441 pixels per inch! The colors are pleasing to the eyes and have great depth. It holds itself well even on broad daylight.

The viewing angles are amazing well too and the curved glass is beautiful.

10 points of touch would have been better, but at 5 points we theres really not much to complain about. For an und er 8K PHP handset, I dont think there is anything anyone would complain on the display features of this phone.

Audio Quality

The phone showcases a single speaker located at the bottom of the phone with good enough (average) loudness. The speaker audio quality may lack clarity and have more distortion on higher volumes in speaker. Using your choice of headphones poses a different discussion.

Audio output thru headphones sounds interesting. It is clean, well refined, and has a close to balanced sound signature. Loudness level are okay too which can drive small powered headphones pretty well.

Using the stock in earphones the output are much clearer and has fine mids and highs. Bass details are more elaborately highlighted more than other aspects but still it does the job.

The microphone is good and picks up the voice pretty well without much ambient noise coming into play.

Battery Life

Almost 6 hours of battery life

With 3,000 mAh of battery on a smaller screen, were expecting the battery life to improve a little coming from the bigger Next. While it still recorded a decent score of about 6 hours t PC Mark battery test, it is less than by 3+ hours against its higher-end sibling. This is a slight disappointment since this limits the phone’s ability to perform.

Battery life is decent, but we expected it to be better.

One of the areas where phones should improve next time is battery life. With sparse usage of the screen and high mode game s, the battery capacity may be prolonged. Also, the built-in Phone Assistant with power saving option and Eco mode could be very useful to make the battery life of the Next Lite longer.

Due to its lack of QC 3.0 support, charging time is approximately under 2 hours and 30 mins in our test.

Camera

13 MP f/2.2 Sony IMX258

The Next Lite has a 13 MP f/2.2 Sony IMX258 sensor w/ PDAF camera with dual LED Flash at the back. Its a type of camera sensor commonly found with pricier smartphones. The camera has the usual set of camera modes like Panoramic, Night mode, and Pro. For those looking for a bit of simple fun, the camera also has a Scene Frame mode that more or less acts like a photo booth.

The Pro Mode is easy enough to use but a bit limited. Theres ISO, exposure, white balance, manual focus, and sharpness adjustment. However, theres no way to manually adjust shutter speed.

Focusing speed is great, we were able to do close-up shots easily, and shutter speed / saving time is very fast.

The phone is an surprisingly good shooter!!!

This shooter is pretty promising. It has gets great color tones and hues. Sharpness is also on point. Its coverage of black tones are good but the camera can be very sensitive to jitters especially in HDR. Compared with the Next, it packs more punch which we slightly liked better.

Pro camera mode settings

At night, the Night Mode of this handset paired with a tripod or steady hands is very useful. On auto mode, quality of shots are still decent, but with visible grains. On very dark conditions, the flash is strong and useful.

The 8 MP wide angle selfie cam is a wonder to behold. It gets the lighting of the image just right and the output images have great color depth and saturation. The beautify feature works wonderfully even on medium lighting conditions.

Both the back and front cameras can take up to 1080p videos with decent quality and colors! The main camera just have faster focus response and slightly better stabilization compared with the front camera. The front camera has great quality for a considering that it is just a "selfie" camera though.

Overall, considering the price, the camera department is a category that the Next Lite has an advantage over its competitors.

Performance

Antutu and Geekbench scores

The phone can do great things with its 1.4 GHz 64 Bit Snapdragon 430 octa core processor. Along with the standard 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage - expandable to 128 GB - the CloudFone Next Lite does live up to its predecessor legacy.

This handset can pack a punch performance wise!

It is a strong combination that allows you to do your day to day functions without delay. With normal browsing usage along with a few apps running in the background, the lag is hardly noticeable.

Asphalt 8 settings

In terms of gaming, the phone would surprise you just like Next. We tested the phone with Asphalt 8 and the experience was near seamless even while running the app on high quality. NBA 2K17 is playable on mostly high-settings too! Just do note however that with high performance usage the phone tends to get warm.

Clean drawer-less UI

The phone comes in with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and packs in quite a number of apps. There is quite a redundancy on the number of clean-up apps section which I hope CloudFone would address. What’s nice though is that most of the stock apps are removable.

Fingerprint sensor settings

The fingerprint scanner is accurate enough given the positioning of the fingers. You will notice that the phones scanner is slightly deeper than the screen so make sure your fingers are position properly for the scanner to do its job.

Easy access settings and useful Phone Assist app!

Connectivity wise, the phone does its job. LTE works fine where there is a strong signal. The Bluetooth range is a bit short for my liking but easily connects and pairs. AR and VR is also possible due to its gyroscope inclusion.

Pros - Build quality is excellent, Snapdragon 430 can run high requirement games and apps, main camera is outstanding for the price, wide angle selfie cam is great, gyroscope, LTE connectivity

Cons - Battery performance could be better, speaker output is a tad weaker than our liking

Verdict

The Cloudfone Next Lite is a lighter version of the Cloudfone Next. This phone may come in the market as a cheaper choice but you are really not loosing that much in terms of performance. It has a great display, an average audio, great cameras, a selfie cam that everyone will love, and a surprisingly amazing performance for the price. So the "lite" in the name may be a bit underrated.

If you’re looking for something that has mid-range phone performance that does not break the bank, the Next Lite could be the next phone for you.
