Instagram adds swipe to zoom double tap to switch camera in video

After ripping-off Stories from Snapchat, Instagram has decided there is no point being shy anymore and might as well go all the way.

The latest features to be borrowed include the ability to zoom by swiping the finger up and down while recording video. On Snapchat, you have to press and hold the button to record a video so the simple act of having the button pressed and simply sliding your finger up and down to zoom makes it quite a clever feature, and Instagram clearly agrees.

The other addition is double tapping on the viewfinder to switch between front and back camera. This works while recording video and the app seamlessly switches between the feed from the front and back cameras.

Other than that Instagram also did some bug fixing and performance improvements to make stories load faster.

The update is now available on iOS and Android.
